New therapies are overcoming genetic abnormalities that were once considered high risk in myeloma. Cutting-edge genomic techniques classify patients better. Ultimately this personalized or individualized medicine, defining the right treatment for the right patient at the right time, will revolutionalize treatment for myeloma.
